Advancement Education – Vision and Purpose
Advancement Education began as a one-to-one, home-based tutoring service, founded on a simple but powerful belief: every learner deserves an education that is individual, purposeful and centred around their needs. This remains the organisation’s unique selling point today, with programmes designed to be individualised, progress-focused and learner-led.
Since its launch, Director Zoe has been passionate about expanding the opportunities available to learners and supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. Advancement Education has worked with learners with SEN both in and out of school, adults looking to develop their skills and progress, ESOL learners, home-educated children and young people, and learners preparing for the 11+ Grammar School entrance examinations.
The demand for this type of personalised education continues to grow. Alongside academic progress, there is an increasing need for learners to have opportunities to socialise, build confidence, develop friendships and feel part of a community. This is where Advancement Education’s vision for small-group learning comes in.
The proposed small-group sessions will provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where groups of up to 10 learners can access specialised teaching, work towards qualifications and develop valuable social skills. Importantly, learners will continue to have individual learning plans and personalised targets, while benefiting from the interaction, encouragement and sense of belonging that a small-group setting can provide.
Funding would enable Advancement Education to take this next important step. It would contribute towards securing and equipping an appropriate learning space, ensuring that learners have access to the resources and facilities they need to thrive. Funding would also support membership and registration with relevant examination boards, enabling learners to work towards recognised qualifications and gain meaningful accreditation for their achievements.
Ultimately, the long-term vision is for Advancement Education to grow into a highly respected and recommended Alternative Provision, filling an important gap for learners who may not thrive within traditional education settings.
Our aim is to provide high-quality, purposeful learning that does education differently — creating an environment where learners feel understood, supported and valued, while giving them the skills, qualifications, confidence and opportunities they need to succeed.
At the heart of Advancement Education will always be the learner: their needs, their goals, their progress and their future.
